Meet the Dentists
Dr. Rick Redmond
Dr. Redmond has been helping patients and families smile brighter here in the Sylacauga community for over 25 years so far – and he looks forward to many more! He has a true love of working directly with others and is always striving to keep his dental office modern with the latest tools and technologies, so his patients receive the highest quality care imaginable.
Dr. Redmond was actually pretty young when he first thought about becoming a dentist for his career. In his childhood, he had family members on both sides who were dentists. While he didn’t grow up around the work, it was definitely in his blood right away. In fact, he even saved his baby teeth – when he officially joined the field, he took a much closer look at them! In college, he volunteered at the dental school at Florida, and that eye-opening experience convinced him that this was 100% the right path he should follow. All these years later, and he hasn’t looked back!
After attending the University of Florida for his undergraduate degree, Dr. Redmond pursued his doctorate at the University of Alabama at Birmingham. He also attended a residency at Washington Dental School Hospital and recently completed a Comprehensive Implant Residency Program in Birmingham as well! He then bought his uncle’s practice in Sylacauga and came to make his home here. He is currently a member of the following dental organizations:
Dr. Redmond is happily married to his wife Joany; he has a son named Jake and two stepchildren named Jared and Emily, all of whom are grown. When he isn’t busy at the dental office, he usually spends his free time fishing and running. He loves doing triathlons and endurance sports in particular. So far, he’s completed approximately 15 marathons, including Boston, Chicago, New York, and the Marine Corps in Washington, DC! He’s also done seven 70.3 Ironman distance triathlons and one 140.6 Ironman distance triathlon.
Dr. Casey Price
As a native Sylacauga-ian, Dr. Price is very excited to return to her hometown in order to take care of neighbors’ smiles alongside Dr. Redmond! Today, her overall career in the dental field spans nearly two decades, which includes lots of time spent in various parts of a typical dental office, including front desk work, assisting, and more.
Dr. Price got married and became a mother at a very young age – because of this, she never thought she’d be able to accomplish much success on a professional basis. However, her strong passion for dentistry pushed her forward to overcome this stigma, and today, she really enjoys encouraging young people to follow their dreams who have a similar background! Over the past decades, she has worked as a dental assistant, a Registered Dental Hygienist (RDH), and an office manager before deciding to pursue her Doctor of Dental Medicine. She has also trained as a chairside assistant in sedation cases with hospital dentistry in pediatrics.
After completing her undergraduate education at the University of Alabama at Birmingham, Dr. Price pursued her doctorate at Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine in Bradenton, FL. She is also very passionate about continuing her education and regularly pursues training courses to stay current with new developments in the oral healthcare field. She is currently a proud member of the American Dental Association.
Dr. Price is happily married to her high school sweetheart and has two teenage daughters, as well as two pets: a Rat Terrier named Molly and a Cocker Spaniel named Roxy. Whenever she has free time outside of the dental office, she enjoys hanging out with her loved ones, traveling, and reading a good book.
